Listen to Your Heart

It is drawing you near. Do you hear?

The Draw of Your Heart

Sometimes my heart feels far far away. And sometimes even when it feels near it seems to be behind a fog. When my heart is distant like this it can feel like I am separate from the world and from myself. But that distance often comes from a limiting view of my heart instead of looking at the full range of my heart. Our hearts aren’t only drawing us to romantic love or familial love. Sometimes they are drawing us to a flower or a simple convenience or a soothing feeling.

How connected am I to my heart? How do I listen to it? How does it communicate to me?

One way is through gratitude. My heart is drawing me to notice all of the things, experiences and people that I end up finding gratitude in. But it doesn’t stop there. Having an open heart helps us find gratitude in everything.

This week as you practice gratitude try replacing “I am grateful for” with “My heart is drawing me to”. And notice if that feels true for you.

quote

Everyone should carefully observe which way their heart draws them, and then choose that way with all their strength.
