Giving Weight


I see you. I value you. I hope you’ll stay.

Welcoming In

Last week was all about releasing. Letting go of that which no longer serves us. This week let's honor all of the things that we wish to welcome into our lives. The objects, the beliefs, the thoughts, the values, the people, our bodies, our environments.

I came across this Yoko Ono quote and I love the feel of it. I imagine a moment growing heavy, not in a burdening way but in a time standing still sort of way. A moment ripe with so much appreciation that it is to the point of bursting. All because we choose to be with it. Welcome it. Love it. Appreciate it.

I love the thought of gratitude giving weight to things that we want to stick around. We know that nothing lasts forever. But even things that are short-lived like the blossoms on a tree can seem to stay around longer when we are fully present with them; noticing them, acknowledging them and appreciating them.

Life can just pass us by in the stress and busyness of the day to day. What are we welcoming in? What would we like to see more of? What can we honor with our heartfelt gratitude? What moments in our day would we like to give weight to so they may stay, in our lives, in our hearts, in our minds, in our memories.
