Reflecting on the Brilliant Moments

This time of year brings such mixed feelings for me. At times I feel extremely connected and valued. Other times I feel lonely and insecure. I go from feeling happy to sad to relaxed to bored sometimes all in one day! The introspection that emerges in me this time of year is also a mix. I see how far I've come and I also wish I was further along. This is why I created the Year of Gratitude Reflection worksheet. I initially created it for myself and completed it for my eyes only. I got so much out of it that I decided to share it with others the subsequent years. It is really helpful for me to reflect on my year with the lens of gratitude. But also there is a question about something you weren't grateful for this year. That question quite literally changed my life five years ago.

That extreme result doesn't happen every time I do it. (And for that I am grateful. I don't know about you but for me a life-changing year is best when limited to every few years.) But every year it is a beautiful opportunity to look back on your year and find the bright spots, the important people, what is important to you, honor your hard work and the opportunities that you said yes to.

When I practice gratitude each night before bed it is often a reflection on the day that is coming to an end. It helps me to mark all the good in my day, reconnect with my humility and release it so I can have a restful sleep and start again tomorrow with a grateful heart open to possibility. I like to see the Gratitude Reflection in the same way. Let's mark the good of 2018 and release 2018 so we can start 2019 with a grateful heart open to possibility.

Blessings to you and to all who you love and to all who love you.
