Celebrating Our Lives

One the same day I was having a bunch of friends and family over to celebrate me I sat in a temazcal practicing humility. And this is what I realized.

Celebrating Ourselves While Remaining Humble

Practicing gratitude shows us how to celebrate our lives and ourselves without getting swept up in ego. Because humility is an integral part of gratitude. When we practice gratitude, even when we are grateful for our lives and our selves, we are honoring all of the factors that have come together to make this moment possible.

None of us are self-made. When we are grateful for ourselves we are honoring the DNA that makes us who we are. We are honoring skills and abilities that were taught to us along the way. We are honoring those who brought us into the world and gave us the necessary food and water and safety to keep us alive. Without even having to spell all of that out our gratitude honors through its inherent humility.

Celebrate your life and yourself. Do it with gratitude. Don’t worry about being swept up in ego. Write down your gratitude for others, for your home, for your work, for your life, for your self and it will ground you back into the beautiful and powerful place of interconnected strength.
