Choose Carefully the Words After “I am”

I am worthy.

The Power of "I am"

Another result of a gratitude practice is that every day that we write, "I am grateful for _________,"  we are declaring who we are as grateful. This is extremely powerful. The words we choose to say after "I am" truly, and in all ways, define us. It is a statement that directs us to think, feel, believe and act in this way. It is language that becomes lived experience. And we are calling out to the universe to make it a reality.

What we choose to say after "I am" should be something that is our way of being that we want to live into. One that I have been practicing for many years now is, "I am worthy". Another is, "I am intuitive". And the ones I try to avoid are any feelings. Feelings are always in flux. I don't want them to be my identity. So I try to say, "I feel tired" instead of "I am tired".

How beautiful that together we say "I am grateful/thankful/blessed" as a daily practice. With each iteration it is true, it is called in, it is lived.
