What Do You Stand For?

We stood for peace. We stood for equity. Then we had dinner together.

Start In This Moment

If you want to create a better future. Start in this moment. Take a stand. It was easy for me to say that I am against white supremacy but I struggled to put into words what I was taking a stand FOR. It doesn’t make sense to say I am grateful for a lack of white supremacy but it does make sense to say I am grateful for equity. Equity is something I stand for. My gratitude practice helped me find the words.

Finding clarity in what I stand for helps me to bring an abstract better future into the present moment. Through gratitude I start to see what that actually looks like and how I can help work towards it. How I can make that change in me and in my present environment. Exploring detailed gratitude for equity I begin to notice, define and replicate it.

Remember that you are not alone. Whatever you are taking a stand there are others who are united for the same cause. Find each other. Share your gratitude. Take a stand together. Encourage each other to make the world a better place starting with yourselves.

So when things are tough and the world feels fucked up, know that you can make a difference. Start with taking a stand.

quoteThe power for creating a better future is contained in the present moment: You create a good future by creating a good present.
~Eckhart Tolle
