Great Works Started and Sustained

You have so much to offer the world.

Tapping Into Your Softness and Strength

The rain came thunderous and hard then soft and gentle. Afterward I went outside to enjoy the cool summer air. The light all around was soft and airy. It was the middle of the day but everything seemed so still and silent.

I am so grateful for moments like these. Walking away from the stress of the day to breathe and just be present. I have been doing this a lot lately. Taking breaks for self-care. It occurred to me today, when floods are ravaging not only Texas and Louisiana but also almost the entire countries of Bangledesh, India and Nepal, when there was a shooting in a small town library here in NM, and when systemic racism is rampant and hurting so many people of color. It occurred to me that I can't get buried by all of this. I have so much to offer the world. I need my softness and my strength to continue forward.

There are so many reasons to get overwhelmed: personal, societal, environmental, political. But for those same reasons we need to do what we can to persevere. Each and every one of us have so much to offer the world. So let's claim our power. Our power to act. Our power to choose our perspective. Our power to use our voice.

Let's start by acknowledging and being grateful for our power and our ability to persevere. In this way we are using our softness and our strength, our humility and our power to keep ourselves going and to make the world a better place.
