Heartfelt Gratitude For Your Mom

A recipe for Mother’s Day gratitude.

Mom, Grandmother, Mother Earth, Like a Mom to Me

This Sunday is Mother’s Day and what a beautiful time to reflect with gratitude on our own mom, grandmother, mother earth or those who are like a mother to us. Even if the person you want to express your gratitude to is no longer here or is unreachable you can still do this activity because it is the feeling and writing of gratitude that is so very powerful.

Think of a time that she helped you. Mother I am grateful for your help when ____________________. Just knowing you were there for me made me feel so supported.

Think of a time she gave you advice. Mother, I am grateful for your advice when ____________________. I guess I haven’t stopped learning from you.

Mother, I am grateful that you are so ____________________.

Think of an early memory of being nurtured or taken care of by her. Mother, thank you for ____________________ when I was young. It felt good to be loved in this way.

Think of the most recent time that you saw her or talked to her. Mother, I am grateful for the last time that I ____________________ you. Thank you for ____________________.

Think of one thing that makes her unique or that stands out about her. Mother, I notice ____________________. This is such a special thing that you bring into the world. Thank you for being you.

After you write your heartfelt gratitude you can decide what you will do with it. Some ideas include:

  • Give it to them.
  • Call them and read it aloud.
  • Save it with your keepsakes.
  • Share it with your family.
  • Share it in ourgratitudecollective.com or on your favorite social media.
  • Bury it to be held by mother earth.

I hope you enjoyed all of this mother appreciation!
