Discover Your Own Special Light

Is your light dulled because you haven’t dusted it off?

Your Own Unique Shining Light

You have unique gifts. Gifts that the world needs. Gifts that are fulfilling to you and while they bring serve the world they also serve you as well. Dust off these talents, skills and abilities. Don’t keep them hidden away. Let them shine to light your way and to bring light to others. More than anything, don’t take them for granted.

If there is anything that my gratitude practice does it helps me to elevate things that I might otherwise not notice or take for granted. So take an inventory, a gratitude inventory, of your light. Here are some prompts to get you started:

What skills are you grateful to have?
What personal characteristics are you grateful to have?
What are you grateful to be able to do?
In what ways are you grateful to serve your family? Your friends? Your work? Your community?
What are you grateful to consider a strengths of yours?
What talent are you grateful to possess?
What are you grateful to be able to do with ease?
What takes a lot of hard work but you are grateful to do it anyway?
What do you take pride in?
What are you grateful to know and/or teach?
In what ways are you grateful to inspire others?
What creative skills are you grateful to possess?
What are you able to do that is not glamorous or too exciting but is necessary?
What gifts are you grateful to have?

What does it feel like to explore your own unique combination of skills, talents, gifts and abilities?

After you write out all of your answers, look over the list. How long has it been since you’ve done these things? What can you do to act on them in service to others? Put this list somewhere you will see it often. Use it as inspiration to shine your own unique light.
