Seeing Gifts Everywhere

So many people shared this video with me I just had to share it with you.

Appreciating The Little Gifts

What a great video this is to remind us of the gifts we have that surround us every single day. I love his enthusiasm. He has that infectious child-like wonder. My gratitude is more subdued like his, “aah … shoes”. But whether we leap for joy with an animated smile on our face of have a silent grateful gaze the important thing is to notice and appreciate those things we see every day.

The curanderas I am learning from were collecting donations today for children in Mataxhi, Jilotepec, México. They told us stories of the living conditions there: no running water, dirt floors, cooking food with an open flame. They don’t even have wood to make the fires that sustain them so they burn dried animal feces. Can you imagine?

Take a few moments and think about life in Mataxhi. Then look around you. Walk through your day seeing the things that surround you. Really noticing all of the gifts you have. Try not to get overwhelmed or feel guilty for what you have. Honor what you have by letting the feelings of appreciation fill your heart. If you feel the urge to share your abundance, please do. And if you would like to give to the people of Mataxhi I will pass it along.

Let us say thank you again and again for the people and necessities and luxuries we are blessed to have.

quoteYou ought to be thankful, a whole heaping lot, for the places and people you’re lucky you’re not.
