I went to a New Moon Ceremony last night. Women gathered together to honor endings, releasing, letting go, grieving. It was beautiful. All of us vulnerable and strong. We were inspired by each other and found more and more to honor as we let go.

 

Gratitude can be a very powerful way to honor as we grieve. This isn’t the time for a quick thank you. When we wish to honor someone of something our gratitude is specific and from the heart.

 

Take a moment to connect with your body. Noticing your breathing. Noticing your heart beat. What feelings are coming up for you? Start there. Welcome the feelings that are alive in you. This is how we connect with the heart.

 

From this place find your gratitude. Write it down being as specific as possible. Fill your gratitude with details.

  • Is there a specific time that you remember that you are grateful for?
  • What happened?
  • Who else was involved?
  • What time of day and what time of year was it?
  • How did you feel?
  • What was that experience like for you?

There is something magical about these details. They unlock the truth. And the more details we explore the more the memory comes to life with feeling.

 

This written gratitude can be placed in a special place to remember them, shared with others or you can release it by burying or burning it.
