Float with the Flow

Flowers against my skin, dew transferred and absorbed, flowing with nature, united.

Nature and My Nature

I awoke before dawn. The magnificent colors of sunrise precede the actual emergence of the sun by quite a bit here. The sun languidly comes up when it is ready. Before the sun joined us I noticed dew gripping tight to bright green leaves, I noticed it sliding down hot pink petals.

I picked a few flowers and laid their cool petals against my dark skin. The dew became my moisturizer, absorbed by my skin, a lovely cycle. A stepladder of fern leaves pointed to the sky and when laid across my thighs created a map to a treasure known but forgotten.

Nature is still teaching me through the flow of dew and once again the flow of breath. Floating atop the waves. Moving with the ocean. Moving with my breath. A few times I resisted and held my breath with fear. The flow interrupted and grace took a plunge. Returning to the breath I rose with each wave, carried, cherished, united.

My nature can return to a tight grip, heavy and calculated. But I am grateful for these reminders of flow. In and out with breath, with water, with dew, with love. Not frozen in time, ever new but cycling through.

quoteI thank you God for this most amazing day, for the leaping greenly spirits of trees, and for the blue dream of sky and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes.

What gratitude emerges for you when you notice nature?

LEARNING: Why is it that we bond with each other through complaints? Even with those of us in the gratitude community there is a pull towards complaining together. I realized the other day when I was itching to complain that I was wanting some compassion or at least to not feel alone. I can bond with people through gratitude but there is a bonding through compassion that I miss when I am not complaining. I am intrigued by this. Compassion is important and I am almost always grateful to receive compassion. But must it always begin with a complaint, a problem, a loss?

FORGOTTEN GRATITUDE: Last week I was also grateful for laying on the beach in the spotty shade of a giant hibiscus tree … Giant family dinners … La vida Sayulita, relaxing at beach, relaxing at restaurants, running into everyone everywhere you go.
