Your Vocal Chords Vibrate with Gratitude

I watched the movie The Shift (thank you for sharing it with me Sarah) and it was very impactful in so many ways. But mostly the opening scene that shows Wayne Dyer getting out of bed saying “thank you, thank you, thank you” as his feet touch the floor. That scene has stayed in my mind. What a powerful thing to not just think and write gratitude but to let it vibrate through your body with the spoken words … Thank You.

This morning those beautiful words came out for no reason and for every reason when I saw my girlfriend first thing this morning. I greeted her a good morning, gave her a hug and said, “thank you.” I instantly flashed back to the gratitude I shared the night before. I was grateful for a hug and the pizza she delivered to me when I really needed both.

Say thank you right now. Whisper it. Say it loud. Put your hand on your heart and say it again. Put your feet on the earth and say it again.  Direct it at someone in particular, direct it at something in particular, direct it at nothing, direct it at everything, direct it at the universe, direct it at god, direct it to yourself. Whether you are saying thank you for something specific or just generally saying thank you, feel it vibrate in your throat. Let those words be your song. Let those words guide you. Let those words fill your heart.

My Gratitude Experience Last Week

zoomI had such an amazing experience last week with writing that article on worry and stress when I was treading water in the the middle of a sea of worry and stress. I was so grateful to write that from a place of real-as-fuck authenticity. I was also grateful to experience that the shit I do really does work! It calmed me down so much and it put everything into perspective. The stressors were still there but my worry had decreased significantly and still today after another full day of being very stressed I am no where near as worried as I was when I started writing yesterday. I’m so grateful to have this gift and to be able to share it with you.

[su_box title=”Where is the Forgotten Gratitude and the Gratitude I Shared Last Week?” box_color=”#e7e6e6″ title_color=”#000000″]I am out of town and I wrote this in advance of my trip so I don’t have timely gratitude to share with you. But of course you can always read my gratitude here on our site. I will have plenty of “Forgotten Gratitude” to share with you next week. See you then![/su_box]
