Your Health – Are You Complaining about It or Appreciating It?

Respecting Your Body and Mind

You are a beautiful being inside and out. Acknowledge this beauty and show respect for it by making a list of your health gratitude.

Your body functions all day and night, awake and asleep. What are you grateful for about the ways that your body functions?

Your mind is constantly taking in information and perceiving the world around you. What are you grateful for about your mind?

Your limbs move and dance. What are you grateful for about your arms and legs?

Your skin regulates your body temperature and keeps all the ickies out. What are you grateful for about your skin?

Your lungs oxygenate your blood and your heart pumps it throughout your body without skipping a beat. What are you grateful for about your lungs and heart.

Things aren’t perfect. You have illnesses, allergies, pain, bug bites,  Look into this. Look deeper. What gratitude is there within these illnesses and maladies?

This is just a start. Write a list of 10 things that you are grateful for about your health.

My Gratitude Experience Last Week

zoomOne day last week I drove all the way to Santa Fe for a meeting but the woman who was navigating didn’t do a great job and her error made us miss the meeting. Well this is one way of telling the story. Another is: One day last week I left my house late for a meeting in Santa Fe. The woman who I was picking up was really sweet and laid back about it. Luckily we made up for the lost time on the drive. But then we lost even more time because I was not prepared with my driving directions. I was so rushed I didn’t pull over to check the map and instead relied on a navigator who was just as confused as I was. What a great lesson in perception and in taking personal accountability!

Forgotten Gratitude

extraLast week I was also grateful for my friends who speak their minds about race issues, it helps me learn … A work meeting where the facilitator asked us how we know we are done, it really helped my self-awareness … Scheduling that just fell into place.

The Gratitude I Shared Last Week

[su_table]

Sun 8/23/2015 I appreciate that today I have a washing machine and dryer … I appreciate that today I have strength and peace and calm … I appreciate that today I have a jolt of carbonated sweetness delivered to me … I appreciate that today I have a wonderful family … I appreciate that today I have shelter that can seal away the smoke.
Sat 8/22/2015 I’m grateful for my sweet loving lovely lady to share my life with … I’m grateful for juice bounty from our yard … I’m grateful for fun music, a great chill crowd, dancers gettin down and running into Mike.
Fri 8/21/2015 I’m grateful for going with the flow when things weren’t going my way … A beautiful hike and a chance to escape out of town for the morning … Burgers and family … Compassion opening up my heart … A gift giving experience that filled me.
Thu 8/20/2015 I’m grateful for working with Margo, it’s great to work with inspired energetic people … Giving a delicious gift … Enough time to go home for lunch … Some clarity for next steps when everything feels pretty uncertain.
Wed 8/19/2015 I’m grateful for a really nice date night and cuddles … A dramatic fiery sliver of moon … Laughter during a serious meeting … A project that was easy enough to do while listening to podcasts but difficult enough to feel quite accomplished in the end.
Tue 8/18/2015 I’m grateful for being told that I am the most authentic person, very powerful and humbling, I strive to be what you already see … I’m grateful for finding a bunch of old jewelry that I love, and getting rid of a bunch of old jewelry that I no longer love … I’m grateful for an abundance of my most favorite snack handed to me when my tummy rumbled and my energy waned.
Mon 8/17/2015 I’m grateful for the fresh deliciousness of garden tomatoes, lime, avocado and quinoa … I’m grateful for sharing my second and third periscope broadcasts, it hasn’t yet been great for me but I really like it and I think it is the right direction … I’m grateful for finally returning to working in my office and having the dogs in there to keep me company … Morning together.
