We Are a Family – Gratitude Is Our Middle Name

Grateful Together – Let’s Unite in Action

We are united by our values … Well at least one of our values. We all believe in gratitude. This I know for sure. Yes, we are different. We come from different backgrounds and we believe in different gods or no god at all. We live in different places. We eat different foods. We find gratitude in vastly different situations. But regardless of all the differences, we are all about gratitude. No matter what we encounter we strive to find the good.

I have been thinking lately about taking this to the next level and inspiring others to feel grateful in another way. What if I inspired someone to feel grateful by giving them something to feel grateful for? What if we all did this? What if we all did it at the same time? All of us generous with our time and/or money helping people out and expecting nothing in return. Imagine the ripple of gratitude that will create.

Some ideas include: random acts of kindness, making meals for people in need, donating our skills to help a charity, a curandera here in Albuquerque has a vision of creating gratitude gardens to feed the homeless or others in need, there is an event here in Albuquerque on September 6th that is called Celebrating Love and it is all about joyful loving service. What event, charity, person in need or idea do you have? Maybe we can all choose our own generous act but do it on a designated time and day. For instance maybe we can do it on World Gratitude Day, September 21st. Let’s work together to make an impact and share our gratitude in a more hands on way.

The easiest way we can connect to share our ideas and to make a plan is on the website. I created a group for us: Gratitude in Action – Let’s DO Something. Let’s log in and make some gratitude happen. If for whatever reason you’d rather not connect that way, just reply to this message and let me know that you are in and ready to participate.

I am so excited to see what we can collectively do in the name of gratitude.

My Gratitude Experience Last Week

zoomMy girlfriend got a second job last week. Not only is this something that she really needed it was also a job that has a lot of hopes of being fulfilling. This was one of those awesome experiences of stating a very clear vision and patiently trusting that it would be fulfilled. She got everything she wanted and even a few cherries on top that she didn’t even order. Anyway, I write all this to say that this was one of those gratitude experiences where I felt complete unselfish gratitude. I felt it for her because I love her and I want this type of awesomeness for her. It felt great to experience gratitude for another person’s blessings. It made me think of how united we all are if we let down those perceived barriers.

Forgotten Gratitude

extraLast week I was also grateful for a most adorable baby mouse it was not alive but it was still so very cute, it touched my humanity … My jewelry cabinet, the end result is even better than I envisioned … An intern to help my business for a semester, the possibilities are exhilarating.

The Gratitude I Shared Last Week

[su_table]

Sun 8/16/2015 Hello gratituders! I’m grateful for fixing the leak myself … Finding that black widow just in time … A beautiful organized jewelry cabinet … A misunderstanding that I was able to learn from and hopes that it won’t happen again thanks to the suggested fix … The ease of sharing photos in the days of smart phones.
Sat 8/15/2015 I’m grateful for 15 of us piled in a truck, noticing and appreciating … Getting in a quick float before the rain … A nice walk and feeling like we were tourists.
Fri 8/14/2015 I’m grateful for breakfast pie … A surprise date when I was all Alonerly … The perfect analogy that came to me in a moment of clarity … A fall-back-to-sleep dream that brought me to a safe place to fall.
Thu 8/13/2015 I’m grateful for fresh peaches and a cute little easy as pie french tart recipe … I’m grateful for for my integrity that keeps me grounded … I’m grateful for being able to teach my dad a very valuable skill and then share lunch together afterward … I’m grateful for another sign that showed I made the right decision and the right time.
Wed 8/12/2015 I’m grateful for Nicole getting the job! I’m grateful for tomatoes plucked from a generous stranger’s garden. I’m grateful for being able to talk it through until it all came together.
Tue 8/11/2015 I’m grateful for being treated to dinner and hanging out with Kara … A yummy bite of forbidden decadence … Being able to know when I am done and communicate that, also this time I was so proud of myself for not feeling like I was letting people down, not good enough or other nonsense.
Mon 8/10/2015 I’m grateful for not throwing up, a comfy bed, little doggy cuddles, and deep breaths … A beautiful adventure day, escaping to Santa Fe for history, art, slowing down, playing a tourist and even getting work done … Walking calmly in the rain.
